Willie Henry McCoy, Sr. earned his wings on January 27, 2026. He was born to the late Walter James McCoy, Sr. and Viola Mae Smith, on November 10, 1948.
He attended Asbury Speight High School, in Fort Gaines, Georgia.
He served on the Deacon Board at Beachum Chapel Baptist Church for many years.
He was employed with Anderson Construction for many years, until his retirement. He was also the second black County Commissioner, in Clay County, Georgia.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Shirley Battle, on January 4, 1975. Willie and Shirley were married for 50 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley McCoy; and three siblings, Mary, Curtis, and Jimmy (Rosie) McCoy.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories, one son, Willie (Daria) McCoy, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC; four grandchildren, Darren, Terrence, Christopher, and Kyana; three sisters; seven brothers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sympathizing friends.
