Walter C. Ingram Sr. was born September 10, 1945 to the parents of the late Frank and H.B. Ingram. He departed this life on February 10, 2023 within the vicinity of his home.
He attended Clay County Elementary and High School.
At an early age, he joined the Enon Baptist Church until he departed Georgia to moved to New Jersey. There he began working as a truckdriver for MRS and as a security guard for Coca-Cola. After 40 years of employment, he retired and returned to Georgia and made Fort Gaines his home. He reinstated his membership at Enon.
He was a loving, kind and energetic person with a contagious personality that ignited smiles and laughter in people he met.
Walter leaves to cherish his children, Cynthia Ingram and Walter (Carmelita) Ingram Jr., 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Sammy Ingram, Eugene Ingram, Willie Ingram, Albert Ingram, Frank Ingram Jr, and one sister Laura Waters. He is survived by his sisters, Geneva (Rubin) Burney, Betty Daniels, brother Freddy (Eldora) Ingram and a sister-in-law Sarah Ingram. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends.
