Shellie Mae Ford

Shellie Mae Ford, daughter of Levie Miller Ford and Alvin Ford, Sr., was born on January 22, 1935 in Clayton, Alabama.  She was one of nine children born to this union. She departed this life to receive her heavenly reward on December 25, 2021.

Her early years of education were attained in the Barbour County School System at Barbour County Training School in Clayton, Alabama.

Our beloved confessed Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. Her peaceful disposition and kind heart will be cherished in the days ahead as we continue to reflect on the life and legacy that she left behind.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Waymon Ford and Alvin Ford, Sr. and a sister, Mazell Davis.

Shellie leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Theresa Straw-Holmes; two grandsons, Timothy DeWayne Straw and Gregory Dametrius Straw; five great granddaughters, Alyssa LaShay Straw, Jascianna Marie Straw, LaShundra Latrese Straw, Arianna Straw and Layla Straw; three sisters, Ida (Whaley) Haslam, Joyce (Tom) Helms, and Armittie Washington; four brothers, Rev. John (Laura) Ford, Ronnie Ford, Ellis (Linda) Ford, Otis (Niecy) Ford and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
