Sheila Elaine Grier

Sheila Elaine Grier was born on September 27, 1969 to Ruby Lee Grier and Tom Smith in Quitman County, Georgia.

Sis. Grier confessed her faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and became a member of the Morris First Baptist Church.  She graduated from Stewart-Quitman High School in 1987. Her greatest love was her family.

Sheila transitioned peacefully on January 18, 2021 at home in Georgetown, Georgia.  She was proceeded in death by her grandmothers, Laura Lee Grier and Louise Smith.

Sheila is known for her jovial, comedic spirit.  She enjoyed uplifting others spirits and making them smile.  Until her health failed, she enjoyed being a “caregiver”.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two beautiful daughters Tyleshia Denise Grier and LaPorchia Queshone Grier, both of Georgetown, GA; two grandchildren: Kelvianhna Camille Grier and Kaveon Micah Grier; mother, Ruby Lee Grier of Georgetown, Georgia; father Tom Smith (Katherine) of Springvale, GA; three sisters: Cynthia Brown (Robert) of Eufaula, AL, Tomeshia Smith and Desmen Ellington of Cuthbert, GA; two brothers Pharon Smith (Sasha) of Cuthbert, GA and Mantravia Smith of Springvale, GA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends: JoAnn Ellington, LaTonya Bouyer, and Deborah Ludlam. Three special cousins: Felisha Upshaw, Jerome Upshaw and Terrea Mitchell, and a very close friend, Travis McKinnon.
