Ruth Deloris Parham King

Ruth Deloris Parham King was born November 25, 1926 to the parentage of the late Gazzie Thornton Parham Bankston and Marcellus Parham in Ft. Gaines, GA. Ruth was the only child of her parents, Ruth answered the Master’s call on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. at Ft. Gaines Rehabilitation and Nursing Home. The battle had been fought and the victory won. At an early age Ruth accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. Ruth graduated from Randolph County Training School; continuing her education at Albany State College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. In 1943 Ruth relocated to Newark, NJ to assist her aunt; the late Lillie McCoy in caring for her cousin, Ralph McCoy, Jr. whom she affectionately called Sonny. Ruth joined Cornerstone Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Wood. She held many positions in the church; Sunday School Teacher, Trustee and Secretary. She was well loved by the Cornerstone Family. Ruth was employed by the Newark School System as a Special Education Teacher. Her students adored and respected her. She retired from the School System after many years of service. She enjoyed every bit of the life that the Lord blessed her with. As she would often say “the world doesn’t owe me anything” and “what does it matter to the Queen”.
She enjoyed attending the Thornton Family Reunions and was always excited to be with them.
After her health became impaired she became a resident of Ft. Gaines Rehabilitation and Nursing Home. 
Those left to cherish her loving memories are Christine and Ralph McCoy and a host of other relatives and friends.
