Robert Lamar Jones son of the late Alice Dozier Jones and Robert Snell, Jr. was born on May 11, 1968. “Big Rob” as he was affectionately known was later reared by his loving God parents, the late Mary Glass and Larry Glass.
He graduated from Randolph/Clay High School, class of 1987. He worked diligently as Master Barber, Little Rob Snack Shack, Owner/Operator of Hill-Hill Billards, Dothan, AL. He had a successful career as a Truck Driver for 20+ years. Those who knew him outside of his professions will remember him as compassionate, civilized, warmly receptive man with gentle manners. Robert made a lasting impression on everyone he met with his charm, which was only surpassed by the size of his heart, his kindness, and his love of the game (pool). His skill was undeniable and unmatched. He taught many and they were better because of it.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Charlene Jones, a nephew, Michael Turner.
Robert Lamar Jones departed this life on Friday, July sixteenth, 2021 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
Those left to cherish his loving memories are his biological father, Robert Snell, Jr.; his God-father, Larry Glass; four children, Robert (Jasmine) Jordan, Shukriyyah Jones, Aisha Davis and Jaquez Bullock; three sisters, Jennifer Snell, Jacqueline (Snell) Morales and Leah Merkison; four brothers, Carl Jones, Charles Jones, Robert Snell, III and Jake Glass; a son he raised as his own, Joshua Scurry, 2 special nieces, Tatvonna (Corey) Johnson and Rachel Merkinson, 15 grandchildren, several trusted and loyal friends, Rickey Henderson, Mike Thomas, Joel Strickland ( and son Richard Walker), John Earl Williams and Lewis Thomas and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
