Robert Willie Cotton

Bro. Robert Cotton was born on July 10, 1942, to the parentage of the late Robert Spencer and Gussie Jones.

He departed his life on January 19, 2024, at Southeast Health in Dothan, AL.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

At an early age he confessed in Christ and became a member of First Baptist Church of Shorterville, AL and later in life joined Greater Friendship A.M.E. Church where he faithfully served.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Pearlie Mae Cotton, daughter, Shelia Davis; grandson, Zytavious Price; sister, Rosie Bullock; step-father, Charlie Jones, Sr.; mother-in-law, Annie Pearl Grimsley; and brother-in-law, Fred Williams.

Those left to cherish his precious memories are his three daughters, Linda (Kenneth) Green, Brenda Cotton, and Emma Spann of Shorterville, AL; a God sent daughter, Shirley Dozier; one son, Anthony (Linda) Cotton of Dothan, AL; two sisters, Jane Thornton and Dollie (Norman) Whiters of Dothan, Al; two brothers, Charlie (Gladys) Jones of Fort Gaines, GA and Willie (Arlene) Jones of Abbeville, AL; brother-n-law, Joe Bullock of Abbeville, Al; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sympathizing friends.
