Rilla Mae Ellington was born in Georgetown, Georgia on March 5, 1956 to the late Mr. Isiah Ellington, Sr. and Mrs. Pearline Ellington.
Rilla proclaimed her faith at an early age and joined the Green Grove Baptist Church in Georgetown, Georgia. Upon moving to Cuthbert, Georgia, she joined the Big Bethel Free Will Baptist Church where she was an usher and a faithful member attending all services until her health declined. Rilla was educated in the Quitman County School System and became a part of the New Horizon Program in Cuthbert, Georgia. She enjoyed her job and being with her co-workers.
Rilla was very free-hearted and was always trying to help someone. She enjoyed picking up her neighbors’ mail and taking it to them every day. She dearly loved her family, church family, friends and neighbors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie Lee Ellington and Eugene Ellington.
Those left to cherish her loving memories are three sisters, Mattie and Hattie Ellington of Georgetown, GA and Juanita Ellington of Eufaula, AL; one brother, Isiah Ellington, Jr. of Columbus, GA; one special friend, Ashley Williams of Cuthbert, GA; , and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
