A Time to Be Born - Rev. McArthur Williams Sr., affectionately known as “Mike” was born on December 24, 1942, in Florence, GA, Stewart County, to the parentage of the late George Williams Sr and Katie Bell Williams.
A Time to Know God - At an early age he accepted Christ as his Savior, was baptized and joined First Missionary Baptist Church, Georgetown, GA.
A Time to Love - He was united in Holy Matrimony to Elaine Johnson Williams April 20, 1963. He was the father to 5 beautiful children, Brenda, Gwendolyn, McArthur Jr, Loretta, and Timothy.
A Time to Grow - He received his early education in Stewart County School Systems, Lumpkin, GA. He worked several years with Georgia State Parks until he retired. He also worked with the Quitman County Voting Department until his health declined.
A Time to Remember - In addition to his parents, McArthur was preceded in death by his brother, Clyde Williams; sisters, Marie Williams, Clara Williams, and Ann Morris.
A Time to Live Life - He served as the Pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Midway, Alabama for 44 years, and a few years as the Pastor of Sardis Baptist Church, Eufaula, Al. His pastimes included, singing and preaching God’s word, playing spades, dominoes, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
A Time to Die - Mike, departed this earthly life at his home surrounded by family on Friday, September 19, 2025.
A Time to Mourn - Those left to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Elaine Williams; daughters, Brenda Norris, Gwendolyn (Eddie) Davis, Loretta (Willie) Respress and a grand-daughter whom he raised, Felicia Norris; sons, McArthur (Cynthia) Williams Jr and Timothy (Drena) Williams; grandchildren, Shemicka (Jonathan) Ivory, Demetria (Tirrell) Deloney, Travis Norris, Eddie Davis Jr, Valencia Davis, Devinair Williams, Devonte Williams, Marcandious Smith; Dontraevous Respress, and Tashawn Respress; twenty-three great grandchildren; siblings, Albert (Bernice) Williams Sr, Donald (Bertha) Williams, Sherman Williams, George (Shirley) Williams, Arthur (Nancy) Williams, Noble (Barbara) Williams, Vonnie Williams, Daisey McFolley, and Betty (Freddie) Flowers; adopted sister, Barbara Stowers; brother-in-law, Lou Lee Johnson; sister-in-law, Carolyn James; a special nephew, Corey Morris; a special daughter-in-law, Joyce Johnson; and several nieces, nephews, and other sorrowing relatives and friends.
