Patrick Clay Bagwell was born on April 2, 1982 to the parentage of the late Mary Joyce Roberts Bagwell and Henry Frank Bagwell, Sr. He was the youngest of four children.
Clay received his education in the school system of both Clay and Randolph counties and was a 2000 graduate of Randolph-Clay High School in Cuthbert, GA. After high school Clay attended Albany Technical College in Albany, GA and completed the certificate program in Criminal Justice.
He met the love of his life, Katie Castleberry, and was married on December 30, 2008.
Clay utilized his post-secondary studies in criminal studies immediately. For over 10 years he worked as a dispatcher at the State Patrol Post in Cuthbert, GA. He later became the Assistant Director and dispatcher for the Lower Chattahoochee Regional 911 Authority in Fort Gaines, GA. In 2016, he was elected Magistrate Judge for Clay County, GA, and in 2020 he was elected Probate and Magistrate Judge of Clay County, GA.
He cherished being outdoors. Clay loved to hunt and fish. His rod and reel were always with him. He valued his family and friends and loved spending time with them and his fur babies. He was a die-hard fan of the Georgia Bulldogs.
Clay leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Katie Leanne Bagwell of Fort Gaines, GA; his father, Henry Frank Bagwell, Sr. of Fort Gaines, GA; his siblings, Dawn (Scott) Anglin of Fort Gaines, GA, Henry Frank “Hank” Bagwell, Jr., of Jankin, GA, and Curtis Matthew “Matt” Bagwell of Fort Gaines, GA; seven nieces, Katie Anglin, Kim Anglin, Kayla Anglin, Shelby Bagwell, Breanna Wright, Allesia Russell and Trinity Russell; a nephew, Trace Bagwell; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Casttors; and a host of other relatives and friends.
