Mr. Myron Grimsley, age 65, was born on August 13, 1957, in Clay County, Fort Gaines, Georgia and passed away peacefully at home with his daughter, LaShonda Grimsley, on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. He was the son of the Late Clarence Grimsley, Sr. and the Late Clementine Lewis Grimsley.
Myron joined Greater Friendship AME Church at a young age. He loved singing in the choir, playing guitar, and playing piano at various churches. He graduated Abbeville High School in 1975 and attended George C. Wallace Community College. He pursued careers at West Point Pepperell and Michelin. He enjoyed lending a helping hand, going to church, tending to flowers, and watching sports.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Elaine Grimsley, and one brother, Adam D. Grimsley.
Mr. Grimsley leaves in bereavement his two daughters, Tamieka L. Grimsley of Boston, MA and LaShonda C. Grimsley of St. Petersburg, FL; one sister, Dr. L. Faye Grimsley of New Orleans, LA; two brothers, Clarence Grimsley, Jr. (Barbara) and Kenny L. Grimsley of Shorterville, AL; three nephews, Daniel F. Grimsley of Upper Marlboro, MD, Adam D. Grimsley II and Brandon Grimsley both of Abbeville,AL; one niece, Jamillah Allen Danzey of Abbeville, AL; one great niece, Jayla Allen of Abbeville, AL; one great nephew, Darrion “DJ” Danzey of Abbeville, AL; three uncles, Richard Lewis of Hillside, NJ, James “Poke” Grimsley of Shorterville, AL, Eddie C. Grimsley (Virginia) of Miami, FL; three aunts, Hattie Grimsley Williams of Syracuse, NY, Vivian Lewis of Miami, FL, and Vatice Lewis of Rosedale, MD; three God-children, Patrick L. McGriff of Marietta, GA, Shontay Y. McGriff of Blakely, GA, Samuel J. McGriff of Conyers, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
