Mary Ella (Flucker) Porter

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1

Mary Ella Flucker Porter (lovingly known as Suddie) was born on December 17, 1935 to the late Walter and Gertrude Flucker in Shorterville,  Alabama.

She joined the First Baptist Church at an early age, held several leadership positions through out the years and was a faithful member until her death.

Mary was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Willie Lee Porter (Chick) on February 26, 1956. To this union four children were born. One preceded her in death, a daughter, Miss Anjanetta Porter.

Mary, 85, peacefully answered her Master’s call on Friday, November 5, 2021, with her daughter by side.

She leaves to cherish her memory three loving children: son Alvin Jerome Porter, Sr. of Shorterville, Alabama, two daughters, Cynthia Porter of Shorterville, Alabama and Rheadell Porter of Abbeville, Alabama; one sister, Wallace Middlebrook of Vero Beach, Fl; one sister-in-law, Earnestine Porter of Indianapolis, Indiana; one brother-in-law, James K. Grimsley of Shorterville, Alabama; and one aunt, Irene Whatley of Abbeville, Alabama.  Mary leaves six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one great - great grandchild (whom she loved dearly) and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friend.
