Lynette Carter was born March 8, 1960, in Fort Gaines, GA to the late Willie Sam and Ethel Bee (Foy) Christian.
On February 25, 2025, she entered eternal rest at Southeast Medical Center in Dothan, AL.
At an early age, she confessed in Christ and became a member of New Judson Baptist Church where she served faithfully.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to James Carter, and they made their home in Fort Gaines, GA.
Lynette worked at Fort Gaines Nursing Home as a Dietary Aide for 10 plus years. She then worked as a Home Health Aide, with multiple jobs throughout her life. As her health started to decline, she would cook and delivery meals around the holidays to those who were unable to leave their homes. You could always catch Lynette sitting on the porch ready for a conversation or riding through the streets waving at the folks of Fort Gaines, GA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Willie Roy Christian, Willie J. “Duker” Christian, and Byron Mincey, and Sister-in-law, Brenda L. Christian.
Those left to cherish her loving memory are her husband Jimmy ”JC” Carter; her daughter, Boosie (Cassie) Christian of Minneapolis MN; son, Derick Christian Sr. of Ft Gaines, GA; 3 sisters, Gloria Peterson and Ella (Lance) Cannon of Ft. Gaines, GA, and Valerie “Michell” (Henry) Veal of Prospect Park, NJ; four brothers, Eddie Roy (Shirley Ann) Christian and Chester Christian of Ft Gaines GA, J.C. (Audrey) Christian of Marlin, TX, and Willie Marshall “Mike” (Equilla) Christian of Atlanta ,GA; Sister-in-Law, Cora Christian of Morrow, GA; 3 Grandchildren, Nylah Christian, Derick Jr Christian, and Darius Christian; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sympathizing friends.
