Lovie Hill Obituary

Mrs. Lovie Jean Hill, 77, of Georgetown, Ga. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023. She was born in Brooklyn New York on July 1st 1945 to the late Orlando and Miller Lee Carter.

Lovie graduated from Girls High in 1964. She later studied general business at Columbus Technical College. Early on in life, Lovie expressed a love for her GOD Jehovah and after a diligent study of the Bible, she dedicated her life and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1964.

To know Lovie was to love her. She was aglow with genuine love for everyone she met. Her joyful spirit and positive attitude was infectious. You couldn’t be around “Ms. Lovie” for too long and not start to feel good. Her generosity and giving spirit was at the very core of who she was and everyone around her knew that whatever she gave you, it was coming from her heart.

Lovie married the love of her life, William H. Hill on May 28th, 1966. With her partner of 56 years, they were blessed to have 7 children, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. One of her most cherished accomplishments was raising her 7 children and she would proudly tell everyone she met that she was the mother of 7. Teaching her children about Jehovah GOD was a responsibility that Lovie took very seriously. She would make it a frequent topic for discussion in showing and teaching her children the right way to live their lives by speaking about the Bible whenever she saw the need to provide instruction and guidance, which was frequent.

In addition to her husband, Lovie will be cherished by her children: Sabella (Chris) Falls of Columbus, GA.; Delown (Amanda) Hill of Georgetown, GA.; Delia (West) Moore of Fairburn, GA.; Camella (Jeffrey) Alexander of Columbus, GA.; Dothan (Latonya) Hill of Georgetown, GA.; Laveren (Angela) Hill of Cumming, GA.; Lovonna Hill of Georgetown, GA.; Her 12 grandchildren; Bryant (Teja) Moore, Aaron (Janell) Moore, Jonathan Falls, Courtney Hill, Joshua Falls, Delown Hill Jr., Jaben Hill, Keira Hill, Ajah Hill, Haden Hill, Tarick Hill, Tejah Hill; and 4 great grandchildren; Samuel Ocha, Liam Ocha, Ian Moore, Amelia Moore.

Also left to cherish Lovie’s memories are her brothers; Delowen Carter of Charlotte, N.C. and Paul (Linda) Carter of Charlotte, N.C., and Her sister, Denise Wright (Douglas) of Wappinger Falls, NY. Lovie was preceded in death by her sister; Linda Thomas and her brothers Orlander Carter and Larry Carter. Lovie also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends who loved her and whom she loved as well.

We will forever remember our dear Lovie and feel the impact she left on us. Her frank and needed advice, caring and nurturing spirit will serve as a reminder of how we all want to live.
