Leonard Howard, age 69, of Georgetown, GA, was born on February 8, 1955, to the late Jessie James Howard and Naomi Barnes. He attended Quitman County Schools in Georgetown and was baptized at an early age in Florence, GA.
Leonard was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He had a passion for drawing, dancing, and spending joyful moments with his family and friends. Known for his love of fashion, he lived to wear a large collection of caps. His laughter and outgoing spirit brightened the lives of those around him, and he cherished his time in the community. In his leisure hours, Leonard enjoyed watching Gunsmoke and Rifleman with his family, creating warm memories that will last forever.
On Friday, September 27, 2024, Leonard peacefully transitioned from this life to be in the presence of the Lord. He was preceded in death by his beloved brothers: James, Willie Oscar, Lawrence, and Johnny Howard; his cherished sisters: Leona Slaughter and Willie Bell Howard; four nieces: Lucretia Talley, Donna Howard, Shawanda Davis, and Octavia Jackson; five nephews: Eddie Slaughter, Lamont Slaughter, Quantavious Howard, James Cockrell, Jr, and Travis Talley.
Leonard’s loving memory will be cherished by his son, Lamarcus (Katrina) Williams of Champaign, IL; his three grandchildren: Joshua Williams of Prescott, AZ, Amaya Williams of Gonzales, LA, and Deandre Williams of Eastman, GA; his two sisters: Lorine Richardson of Georgetown, GA, and Tina Howard of Dayton, OH; and his four brothers: Jessie Howard of Fort Pierce, FL, Theo (Deloise) Howard of Dayton, OH, Robert (Eva) Howard of Omaha, GA, and Joseph Howard of Georgetown, GA. He is also survived by his special cousins, Chester and Alberta Crews of Fort Pierce, FL; a special friend, Senora Liptroth, and a host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, cousins, and friends who will remember him dearly.
