Joyce Virginia (Richardson) Hawkins

Joyce V. Hawkins entered this natural life as we know it on January 19, 1954 to the late Henry and Airlean Richardson in Fort Gaines, GA.  She transitioned from the natural life into the eternal at Southeast Medical Center in Dothan, AL on July 22, 2022 at 4:45 p.m. after years of degenerative illnesses.

She was baptized and joined Bethel A.M.E. Church at an  early age.  She was educated in the Clay County School System.

Joyce was preceded in death by her brother, Willie Jean Richardson, and her niece, Shanda Parkman.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Willie Fred Hawkins of Georgetown, GA; her two children, John (Catresa) Hawkins of Dothan, AL and Lia’Shonda (Timothy) Davis of Union Springs, AL; five siblings, Perletta Faison of Fort Gaines, GA,    Iantha Parkman of Shellman, GA, Bessie Mae Jones of Eufaula, AL, Corene (J.W.) Lane of Georgetown, GA, and Charlie Henry Richardson of Cuthbert, GA; 7 grandchildren, Malcoma Culver, Jarodric Stringer,  Mersades Johnson, Quantavious Hawkins, La’Steve Lane, Tyikerria Hawkins and John-David Hawkins; four great grandchildren, Lakeycia Dawson, Lyric Watson, Naomi Hawkins and Xyla Fortson; six very special friends, Joyce Gilbert, Deborah Ann Bradley, Daisy Davis, Sara Jones, Elizabeth Jackson and   Latonya Bouyer; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sympathizing friends.
