Deacon Johnny Lee Hodge, Sr., was born on July 25, 1941, to the late Elijah and Lela Battle Hodge, Sr. He departed his earthly life on January 13, 2025.
In the early part of his life, he was a member and attended Midway Baptist Church. He later relocated to Miami FL, and became a member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, where he was ordained as a Deacon. Later in life, he returned to Morris, Ga, and became a member of Agape Ministries, Inc., of Shellman, GA, under the leadership of Pastor Ethel Coleman. He was a faithful member until his health declined.
He attended school in Coleman, GA.
He retired from Long Shoreman.
In 1964, he married his best friend, Wilda Hodge, and to this union three children were born.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lola Hodge, whom he cherished; and two brothers, Elijah (Vera) and Willie Frank (Bessie).
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Wilda Hodge; two sons, Johnny Hodge, Jr. (Naomi) and Dextan Hodge (Elizabeth) both of Miami, FL; 8 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and a host of relatives, church members, and friends.
