John Andrew King was born on July 3, 1953, to the late I.C. King and Mamie Lou King in Shorterville, AL.
He joined Belview Baptist Church at an early age and remained a member until his death.
John began farming at a very early age and worked as a farmer until his retirement in 2017. He loved farming and working outside in the yard. After his retirement, his passion for working outside remained and he added a new passion for lawn care. He loved his music (especially Johnny Taylor). He loved dancing and was always the life of the party.
In 2024, with his health failing, he moved to Conyers, GA with his niece Jackie King. On January 5, 2026, he departed this life at Westbury of Conyers in Conyers, GA at the age of 73.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Johnny C. King; his devoted sister, Irene King; uncles, Levi King and Felix King; aunts, Ivola Anthony, Fannie Williams, Laura Cosby Crandall, Jesse Wells, Rufus Wells, and William C. Wells; and niece, Cheryl Dozier.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a beloved aunt, Mamie C. King, Abbeville, AL; nieces, Jackie King of Conyers, GA, whom he raised as his own and Patricia Williams (Charles) of Dothan, AL; nephews, Christopher Knight ( Cameka) of Midland City, AL, whom he raised as his own, Richard King and Jeffrey King, both of Tallahassee, FL; great nephew, Dominique Parks of Dothan, AL; great nieces, Cherrelle Parks and Dominesha Parks, both of Dothan, AL; and a host of great-great nieces, nephews and cousins. Also, special and devoted family and friends, Doris Lewis, Bernard Harris, Ann Allen, Annie Ruth Hill, and Cordelia King.
