On December 16, 2022, our Lord and Savior opened up the Heavens for Ida Mell Young to enter into.
She was born on May 5, 1942 to Adam McCray of Perry, GA and Lucille Cannon of Byron, GA in Fort Gaines, GA.
She was beloved by her husband Roosevelt Young for over 65 years. She was blessed with five children, one preceded her in death. Annie Alexander, Joann Young Alexander (Melvin), Roosevelt Anthony Young and Christopher Antoine Young. She was blessed with thirteen grands, twenty-nine great-grands, and eleven great great-grands.
Ida leaves to cherish her life and memories to her living siblings, Eva Mae Stringer, Sarah McCray, and Betty McCray.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Adam McCray, Jr. and Calvin McCray; and two sister Lillie Maude Preston and Maggie Davis, a daughter, Selma Young, and a son-n-law, Eddie Alexander.
She relocated to West Palm Beach, FL in the 60’s with her husband and children, where she worked for the P.B.C.S.B. for over 30 years, from which she retired.
Ida will be greatly, greatly missed by her husband, children, family, and friends.
