Mr. Frank Hodge III, age 84, of Ft. Gaines, Georgia departed this life on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at 9:06 a.m. at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL. Frank was born on October 25, 1936 in Ft. Gaines, Georgia to the parentage of the late Elizabeth Glasco and the late Rev. Frank Hodge II.
After the passing of his mother at a young age his father was united in Holy Matrimony to Equllie Hodge and was raised by her as her own child along with her other children. He attended Asbury Speight School. He was a member of Springfield Missionary Baptist Church from a child to adulthood.
He had worked several jobs to include farm work, Walter F. George Dam & Lake, Anderson Construction for many years and others until his retirement. Frank also enjoyed building, repairing of houses and churches, cement finishing, repairing vehicles, plumbing and carpentry. He loved spending time with his family and friends and had a great love for his pets and animals.
He was later united in Holy Matrimony to Lela Mae Bankston and to this union 5 daughters were born. Two daughters preceded him in death. He also raised a son, the late Anthony Bankston as his own. 2 sisters, Eunice Tibbs and Margaret Hodge and 2 brothers, Marcus Hodge and Walter Lee Hodge also preceded him in death.
He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memories and celebrate his life to 3 daughters, Glenda Hodge (Espenozer) Gladden, Regina Hodge (Willie) Davis and Michelle Hodge (Charlie) Jackson; 18 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Rosie Alexander, Naomi Hodge Williams and Doris C. (Willie) Sapp; 3 brothers, Will F. (Irene) Morgan, Willie Fred (Verlene) Hodge and Floyd E. Hodge; a special fiend, Jerry Tims, who he could always count on, and a host of loving nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
