On Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 4:45 a.m. God began to take a stroll through heaven and in his stroll, he passed an empty nest with the name Earnest Allen written on. God knew just where to go to find Earnest, so he went to Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL and told Earnest it was time to come home and take his rightful place in his father’s house. Earnest was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
In 1971, he met and married Betty Jo Simmons and was a faithful husband until his death. He also leaves to cherish his memory, an aunt, Jessie Jenkins; a sister, Mollie (Lynn) Helms; a daughter, Lisia (Willie Gene) Williams; a son, Rickie (Rose) Simmons; grandchildren that he raised as his own, Antonio (Shell-special friend) Allen, Lontravis Avery, Brandon (Angie-special friend) Allen, Vincenet Allen, Brianca Allen, Rickea (Jeremy) Simmons Reynolds, Raynesha (Kristian) Toney, Rickie Simmons, Jr., Rickayla Simmons, Rickiya Simmons, Jamal Lane, and Jasmine Lane; 15 great grandchildren; two very special cousins, Anna and Dexter Goins; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and church members.
