Debra Janice Elise McCray

Obituary

Ms. Debra Janice Elise McCray was born in Clay County, GA to the parentage of the late Mrs. Elice Brown– McCray and Calvin McCray.  She departed this life on August 14, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.

In 1980, she graduated from Clay County High School. 

She became a member of Thompson Grove Missionary Baptist Church at a young age.  While in attendance, she served as secretary, treasurer, and announcer up until the closure of the church.

She was employed with Cooper Lighting in Eufaula, AL for 13 years and Southern Plastic in Eufaula, Al for 3 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents Mildred Hull Brown and Lawson Nell Brown, and a nephew, Solomon McCray.

Those left to cherish her loving memories are three sisters, Talae, Kimberly, and Sandra McCray of Fort Gaines, GA; one brother, Tony McCray of Dothan, AL; four nieces, Kashia Toney (Deon) and Siraya Heard of Fort Gaines,Ga, and Krescaria McCray and Chalaysia Paige of Columbus. GA; one nephew, Travis K. McCray of Fort Gaines, GA; four loving aunts, Billie Ann Brown of Miami, FL, Sarah McCray, Eva Mae Stringer, and Maggie Davis (Willie) of Fort Gaines, GA, and Betty McCray of Albany, GA; a special friend, Sandra Hudson of Bakerhill, AL, and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
