Charlie McClain Obituary

Life’s Reflections
“TO EVERYTHING THERE IS A SEASON
AND A TIME TO EVERY PURPOSE UNDER THE HEAVEN”
Ecclesiastes: 3 1-8

Charlie McClain was born to the late Charles Cain and the late Lorene McClain in
Georgetown, Georgia. As a baby, he was adopted by Eddie Roy and Adine Jackson who
preceded him in death. His sister Mary and his brother Boomer also preceded him in death.
Charlie began his Christian life at an early age at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist church at
Crossroad in Georgetown, Georgia.
After graduating from Georgetown’s Kaigler High School, Charlie relocated to
Florida temporarily before finally migrating to Chicago. Upon arriving in Chicago,
Charlie took the automotive skills he had learned from Eddie Roy and was hired to work at
Sears Roebuck and Company. There, he honed his skills and become a “Front - End
Specialist”. He worked at Sears for over 20 years before Sears began to downsize forcing
Charlie to take his skills to Pep Boys, from where he retired. Being a fair and excellent
mechanic people were constantly seeking out Charlie to repair their vehicles. He stayed busy.
Charlie leaves to cherish his memories: his daughter Mia Falconer. His wife Toya and their
son William. Sisters: Mildred, Patricia, Julia and Mary. Brothers: Clifford, Raymond, Nkosi,
Ralph, John and Ernest. His Aunt Mattie and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
