Carl Walker, was born January 9, 1951, to the parentage of the late Tommie and Carolyn Walker. He departed his earthly home, on September 27, 2025, with the same quiet grace that defined his years among us.
Carl grew up in a close-knit family, alongside his brothers, Tommie Walker, Willie Walker, and Arnett Nunn, and sister, Annette Hickman.
Though soft-spoken, Carl’s life spoke volumes through the way he lived—-with patience, kindness, and steady devotion to his loved ones.
Carl found peace in life’s simple joys, especially watching western movies, which reflected his love for quiet evenings and classic storytelling. He also enjoyed sitting in the garage, people watching, and appreciating the world around him.
Hardworking and faithful, Carl dedicated himself to many roles over the years. He was employed with Sambo’s in Columbus, GA, where he was known for his steady presence and reliability. He later worked for his uncle as a carpenter in Fort Gaines, GA, before joining Tyson Foods, where he continued to build a reputation as a humble and dedicated worker.
When Carl relocated to the Atlanta area, he became a devoted caregiver for his aunt, Lillie Jones—- an act of service that reflected his lifelong values: faith and family first, no matter what.
In Atlanta, Carl attended Enon Baptist Church, where his love for Christ strengthened through fellowship.
He was proud to be a member of his family, cherishing the love, history, and bonds that connected him with so many.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommie Walker and Arnett Nunn.
Carl leaves to cherish his memories, his brother, Willie Walker; sister, Annette Hickman; two nieces, Rachelle James and Deonna Hickman; four nephews, Arnett Davis, Isaiah Smith, Brandon Hickman, and Willie Walker, Jr.; and a host of cousins and friends.
All who knew Carl treasured him deeply.
Carl will be remembered as a man who asked for little, gave much, and was loved by all. His quiet strength, selflessness, and devotion to family will remain forever in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
