Bettye Jackson Cudgel was born on April 17, 1935 to the parents of Plass and Dora Jackson in Fort Gaines, Ga. She was called home on Sunday, January 1, 2023 Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Albany Georgia.
Bettye was married to Johnnie C. Cudgel III for 62 years and to this union one child was born.
She was a active member of Springfield Baptist Church until her health began to fail, and served as Sunday School secretary, choir member, and the kitchen committee. She is most well known for her potato salad.
She was a Honor Graduate of Asbury Speight High School Class of 1955.
She was employed for 42 years with Enrichment Services and retired in 2006 upon learning she would become a grandmother, a secondary factor was that she would also have to use a computer.
Affectionately known to many as Aunt Betty, she was always willing to lend a helping hand and was always willing to give her last. Her doors were always open to anyone and she made sure all who visited were full when they left.
