Barbara Brown was born to the parentage of James K. Grimsley and the late Gertrude Flucker Grimsley of Shorterville, AL on May 24, 1950.
She was a member of Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church. She was a 1967 graduate of Henry County Training School. Soon after she received her nursing degree from Wallace Community College. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend.
On September 2, 2021, Barbara made a peaceful transition to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude Grimsley.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories a father, James K, Grimsley of Shorterville, AL; one brother, Alvin (Christina) Grimsley of Abbeville, AL; three children, Paula “Michelle” Morris of Atlanta, GA, Paul Michael (Kelli) Slaton of Bowie, MD and Paresha Shafiee Brown of Abbeville, AL; ten grandchildren, Duran Slaton, Jasmine Slaton, Mischa Morris, Bryttanie Slaton, Dyvon Slaton, De’Andre Hawkins, Malea Slaton, Caleb Guilford, Lelan Deloach and Pheonix Deloach; five great grandchildren, Jaleah Cook, Chayce Porter, Milan Morris, Alonzo Grant, and Devynn Nathaniel; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives ad friends.
